What Are You Willing to Sacrifice for Your Goals?

What Are You Willing to Sacrifice for Your Goals? - The Center Consulting Group - Leadership Coaching and Consulting for Businesses, Churches, and Nonprofits

What are you willing to sacrifice for your goals?

I recently read that 24% of millennials would give up sex for a year if they could retire by age 50! And 34% of all survey respondents said they'd stay off social media for a year to accomplish the same goal (Wealthsimple). Reading this is a reminder that few goals can be accomplished without sacrifice. And, is the goal even worth the sacrifice?

“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” – Proverbs 21:5

Below are five questions to help you think through your goals and the sacrifice and delayed gratification involved. I hope you find them to be beneficial.

  1. What are your most prized goals for the next five years?

  2. How did you determine that these goals are worthy of being “prized”?

  3. How much are you willing to sacrifice to accomplish your goals, and in what areas are you willing to sacrifice?

  4. What will it take to accomplish your goals? Advisors? Encouragers? Accountability coaches?

  5. Will your goals have long lasting effects and bring lasting joy to yourself and others?
