The staff transition process for a church or non-profit creates both exciting opportunity but also significant vulnerability. Whatever the reason for the transition, each occasion has its own unique potential complications, and mistakes can easily be made. In this article, we have included 26 common errors we have seen organizations make during the transition process. As consultants, it is our desire to help leaders guard against these errors and thereby increase the likelihood of a successful pastoral staffing change.
